As you will have realised NWW offers a wide variety of accommodation, for long or short stays and
holidays, both in cities and in country locations of great natural beauty.
In this section we present some interesting ideas and itineraries for your stay in NW Italy.
Our itineraries fall into two categories - in town or out of town - from which you can select those that interest you.

We have chosen itineraries that reveal the fascinating history of cities and towns through their architecture and urban landscape (Turin and provincial cities).
Or itineraries that combine vistas of magnificent country with opportunities to sample excellent food and wines, or where contact with the traditions and folkways of these lands provides insight into the history they are steeped in..
If you have a special interest that our itineraries do not cover do not hesitate to ask us!

  • The old "Salt Roads" from the Valle delle Meraviglie ( Valley of Marvels) to the Balzi Rossi (Red Cliffs)
This itinerary covers 50/60 kms, and begins with a trek through a high mountain valley.
  • Valle dell'Olivo
    (Valley of the Olive Tree).
This valley is 20/30 kms. long and extends from the city of Imperia up into the foothills of the mountain range which forms the natural barrier between Liguria and Piedmont.
  • Taggia - Bussana - Sanremo
  • Colle di Nava a mountain pass providing another natural gateway between Piedmont and Liguria.
This itinerary follows the route of the Colle di Nava road (no. 28 ): from Imperia to the end of the Impero Valley on the Ligurian side, over the pass to continue down through
the Tanaro and Bormida Valleys in Piedmont.
  • Itineraries for the Gran Paradiso Park
The Gran Paradiso National Park, the largest natural reserve in Europe, is an easy day trip from Turin.
  • Ovielle Hunting Lodge
King Vittorio Emanuele II rode in his carriage along this old road, which winds its way up the mountainside through fir and larch woods, to the famous royal hunting lodge of Ovielle.
  • Vittorio Sella Refuge and the Herbetet Huts
The route from Valnontey to the Vittorio Sella Refuge is one of the most popular in the Park. In the early morning or in the evening, close encounters with wild ibex are quite common.
  • Ivrea
It is well worth a visit to Ivrea to see its well preserved old town centre which is dominated by Arduino castle. Ivrea's carnival celebrations are truly unique and spectacular: during the famous Battle of the Oranges, in the city's squares teams of orange throwers on foot fight it out with their opponents on horse drawn carts.
  • Canavese
This corner of Piedmont features beautiful little lakes and green hills, castles and historic palaces; there are tiny, exquisite villages like Maglione where every year well known artists gather to paint murals on the walls of the old houses and visitors can stroll the narrow streets admiring the work of Nespolo, Testa, VanDick, De Bujin etc.
